Lesson:

The Creation of the

Family of God

(Edition 1.0 20061021-20061021)

God the Father or Eloah did not come into existence. He has always existed. At some point He decided to extend Himself and create a family. In this lesson we will look at the concepts related to the creation of the spiritual and physical beings that make up this family.

Review the basic concepts of the paper with the children. Children’s questions are in bold.

Q1.      Who alone has always existed?

A.        The One True God, Eloah, has always existed (Jn.17:3; 1Jn.5:20).

Q2.      Can God die?

A.        No, God cannot die. He alone is an immortal being (1Tim. 6:16). God is saying here: "I will be what I will become" (from notes in The Companion Bible).

Q3.      Is He (Eloah) the first and last?

A.        Yes. He is Alpha (which means the beginning) and He is the Omega (which means the last) (Rev. 1:8).

Q4.      What does "I AM WHO I AM” mean from Exodus 3:14?

A.        God is saying here: "I will be what I will become" (from notes in The Companion Bible).

Q5.      Is the Holy Spirit the power of God?

A.        Yes, the Holy Spirit is the power of God, but it did not exist separately from God until God began the creation. So this separation was the first element of the creation. The Sons of God were created after that, as the Spirit was essential for their interaction with the Father. See the paper What is the Holy Spirit? (No. CB3).

Q6.      How will the creation be “all in all”?

A.        Through the Holy Spirit the entire creation of spiritual and physical beings will become "all in all" (Eph. 4:6). The Holy Spirit is the substance that ties the entire creation together with God the Father.

Q7.      Did God create many spiritual sons? Is He then the Father of these spiritual sons?

A.        Yes, God created many sons (Deut. 32:8; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:4-7) and He became God as the Father from the creation or generation of these spiritual sons (Heb. 12:9).

Q8.      Do we know the exact number of the spiritual sons of God?

A.        We do not know the exact number of spirit beings but there are possibly over 100 million (see Dan. 7:9-10; Mat. 26:53; Lk. 2:13; Heb. 12:22; Rev. 5:11).

Q9.      Do the spiritual sons of God know everything about God’s Plan?

A.        No. Even Jesus Christ needed things revealed to him. That is why Revelation 1:1 states: "the revelation of Jesus Christ (to John) that God gave him to show his servants things which must shortly take place".

The spirit beings needed to demonstrate patience and wait until the Mysteries of God are revealed to humans (in stages), so then they too can fully understand the Plan of God. The Bible tells us "there were things that angels desired to look into" (1Pet. 1:12).

Q10.    Was Jesus Christ the first one or beginning of the creation of God in the spiritual and physical sense?

A.        Yes, Jesus Christ was the beginning of the created (or generated) spiritual Sons of God. (Rev. 3:14), and the first-begotten or first-born physical son of God (Col.1:15).  God the Father did the creating.

Q11.    Who developed the administrations or organizations of the spiritual Temple?

A.        Christ developed the administrations of the spirit beings (Col. 1:16).

Q12.    Who was slain or known to have to given up his life for man and the fallen Host from the very beginning?

A.        Messiah was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8).

Q13.    Who was anointed above his partners?

A.        Christ was completely loyal to the Father’s Plan and fulfilled all aspects of the Plan. By his death Jesus Christ fulfilled his part in redeeming man and Host to the Father. He was anointed above his companions, or fellow spirit beings (Ps. 45:7; Heb. 1:9).

Q14.    What is the first thing God created?

A.        The spiritual creation (angels).

Q15.    Describe what God’s Throne looks like?

A.        Before the Throne there is a sea of glass like crystal, and in the centre, around the Throne, are the 4 Living Creatures (Rev. 4:6). Jesus Christ is now sitting at the Father’s right hand (Mk. 16:19; Lk. 22:69; Acts 7:55; Rom. 8:34).  Revelation 4 and 5 tell us God is sitting on His Throne in Heaven with a rainbow around the Throne (Rev. 4:3). There are also 24 thrones with the 24 Elders sitting on these thrones, clothed in white garments and with crowns on their heads (Rev. 4:4). There are seven lamps of fire burning before the Throne. They represent the seven Spirits of God (Rev. 4:5).

Q16.    Is there a congregation or a group of spirit beings around God’s Throne?

A.        Psalm 82:1,8 also talks about God in His congregation and describes how He judges. Other references to God’s Council are found in Psalm 86:8; 95:3; 96:4,5; 97:7,9; 135:5; 136:2; 138:1.

Q17.    Do we have any idea where God’s Throne is?

A.        Yes, it is in the sides of the north from Isaiah 14:13, and 2Corinthians 12:2 tells us it is in the third heaven.

Q18.    What do the seven Spirits before God’s Throne represent?

A.        Revelation 1:4 tells us that there are seven Spirits before God’s Throne. And Revelation 4:5 informs us that there are seven lamps burning before the Throne of God, which represent the seven Spirits of God. Zechariah 4:3 describes the two olive trees on the sides of the golden lamp stand with its seven lamps, from which the Holy Spirit flows through to the Seven Churches. Revelation 1:20 indicates that the seven lamp stands are the Seven Churches, and the two olive trees are the Two Witnesses (Zech. 4:11-14).

Q19.    Which quadrant or area is each of the four living creatures responsible for?

A.        Lion in the east, man in the south, bull in the west, eagle in the north (Ezek. 1:5-28; Rev. 4:7-8).

Q20.    What do the 24 Elders look like and what is their “job”?

A.        They are dressed in white robes with gold crowns on their heads (Rev. 4:4); they worship (Rev. 5:8; 19:4) and monitor the prayers of the saints (Rev. 5:8).

Q21.    How many Elders are there in each quadrant?

A.        There are six Elders assigned to each one of the four quadrants or areas (6 x 4 = 24).

Q22.    How many beings are there in the Inner Council or group after Messiah was anointed above his partners?

A.        There are 30. 1- God the Father, 1- Messiah, 4- Living Creatures, 24- Elders (1+ 1+ 4+ 24 = 30).

Q23.    How many Elders in the Outer Council? How many in the total Council?

A.        40 Elders in Outer Council; 70 Elders in total Council.

Q24.   What else do we know of that has 70 or 72?

A.        There are numerous references to the number 70 in Scripture. Historically, Moses ordained 70 (Num. 11:24-26). Even the Sanhedrin (or Council of Elders), which was Israel’s governing Council, was based on the number 70 (see also Ex. 24:1,9; and Lk. 10:1,17).

Q25.    What did God create first, the angelic Host or the Earth?

A.        The angelic Host was created first then the Earth. (Gen. 1:1; Job 38:4-7).

Q26.    Who was placed in charge of the Earth? What does his name mean?

A.        Lucifer (which means light bearer) and the other Sons of God were placed in charge of the planet and directed to take care of it and the people who would be placed on it.

Q27.    Was Lucifer created prefect? Was he at the very Throne of God?

A.        Yes, he was created perfect and functioned as a Covering Cherub at the Throne of God (Ezek. 28:12-15). He was in the south/man position and was given huge responsibility over God’s spiritual creation, and later the physical creation. He held the rank of Morning Star of the planet (Ezek. 28:12).

Q28.    Did Lucifer remain perfect and loyal to God and His Law? Does God “make” any of us (man or Host) always obey Him?

A.        No, Lucifer was perfect until wickedness or iniquity was found in him (Ezek. 28:15). Lucifer attempted to lead a rebellion to replace God the Father. He said: "I will make myself like the Most High" (Isa. 14:13,14). Lucifer and one third of the Host rebelled against God (Rev. 12:4). Some sources believe that half of the Inner Council joined with Lucifer in the rebellion against God the Father. God gives man and Host “free moral agency” which means God allows us to choose to obey or disobey. God did not make us robots that will always obey Him; we have to want to obey God and His Law.

Q29.    Did Lucifer’s name remain the same after he rebelled?

A.        No, his name was changed to Satan, which means the adversary, or accuser of the brethren (1Pet. 5:8; Rev. 12:10; Zech. 3:1). An adversary is someone who is always trying to hurt us.

Q30.    Did Satan keep his “job” as Covering Cherub after he rebelled?

A.        No, Satan’s role as Covering Cherub over God’s Throne became vacant after his rebellion (Ezek. 41:18-19).

Q31.    Though the Earth was created perfect did it remain in that state?

A.        No, the Earth became formless and empty (Gen. 1:2). It is thought that this happened when Lucifer rebelled. He and the fallen Host were cast back to the Earth and it became tohu and bohu, which means chaotic and empty.

Q32.    Was Satan left in charge of the Earth and future people of the Earth?

A.        Yes, Satan is the prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2) and the god of this world (2Cor. 4:4).

Q33.    Who created the humanoids?

A.        There were human-type creatures that lived on the Earth a very long time ago, and they are referred to as humanoids. They only had limited things in common with modern man. They walked on two feet, but they thought and acted very differently from modern man. They were the creation of the fallen Host. God the Father never intended for them to be on the Earth. Remember, the angels did not know God’s entire Plan and this was one of Satan’s many attempts to take over God’s Plan. The One True God never ordained the creation of these beings; therefore, they did not have access to God’s Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us this creation will not be in the resurrection (Isa. 26:13-14).

Q34.    How many days in a week?

A.        There are seven days in a week.

Q35.    Which day of the week is the Sabbath? How many days are we to work?

A.        The seventh day (Saturday) is the Sabbath. We are to work on the other six days. The Sabbath, or seventh day is our time to spend learning of and worshiping the One True God.

Q36.    How many “days” was Satan given to work on the Earth and care for the Adamic or human creation?  What happens when Satan’s time is finished?

A.        God works things out in His time-frame. God allowed about 6,000 years for the current system under Satan's rule, since Adam was created. We are nearing the end of that 6,000-year period now. Satan’s time will be cut short and the 1,000-year millennial reign of Jesus Christ the Messiah, the new Morning Star of the planet, will soon begin. This is referred to as the Period of Just Rule.

Q37.    Did God know that some of the spiritual creation would rebel even before He created them?

A.        Yes, God knew everything from the beginning; He knew some of the spiritual Host would rebel. Therefore, the One True God, in His infinite love and wisdom, created two systems: one spiritual and one physical. Each type of being has the capacity and freedom to make choices. Each type of being has certain responsibilities.

Q38.    What are the specific jobs of the spiritual and physical beings?

A.        The spiritual sons of God are to help care for humans and the planet. Once humans were created some of spiritual Sons of God acted as messengers between God and man. We, as humans, are to worship the One True God, care for our families and the planet, and help all people to understand the One True God. Both the spiritual and physical systems are tried and tested in their respective duties.

Q39.    Even before God started to create, did He have a plan of how to reconcile, or bring back, man and the fallen Host to Himself?

A.        Yes, God planned that His spiritual Son, Joshua or Jesus, would be made human and show us how to live a sinless life, teach us of God’s Laws and be the perfect acceptable sacrifice (Jn. 3:16; 1 Pet. 1:19,20; Rev. 13:8). Jesus Christ was the perfect and complete sacrifice. Christ demonstrated faith by giving up his spiritual existence and becoming a human. He was totally dependent upon the will and power of his God for his life and resurrection to eternal life. He was totally obedient to his God.

Q40.    What does Deuteronomy 32:8 in the RSV mean?

A.        This text means that the One True God assigned jobs to the 70 Elders of the Sons of God. Jesus Christ the Messiah was responsible for caring for the nation of Israel. Israel was to learn how to follow the example of Messiah’s selfless act, and be prepared to lay down their lives for others. By his death, Messiah redeemed the Host and mankind to the One True God.

Q41.    What happens when we are baptized?

A.        When we are called, repent and are baptized, we receive the Holy Spirit. We can then go boldly before God’s Throne in prayer (Heb. 4:16; 10:19-20).

Q42.    What do we mean by the First Resurrection?

A.        When Messiah returns, the saints who have already died will be resurrected first as spirit beings (1Thes. 4:16-17). Those of the saints alive at Christ’s second coming will meet him in the air and be changed in an instant (flash) from physical to spirit (1Cor. 15:51-52). The saints of God are those who have kept the Commandments of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ (Rev. 12:17). The Church, the Bride of Christ, will be married to Jesus Christ, the Messiah, at that time. Those of the First Resurrection will become spirit beings and rule with Christ on the Earth for the 1,000 years of the Millennium.

Q43.    What happens to Satan when Messiah returns?

A.        Satan will be bound for 1,000 years. At the end of the 1,000 years of the Millennium, Satan will once again be released for a short time. Even though people will have been living happy lives for a long time, some will still rebel under the influence of Satan after his release. This will be the last rebellion. At that time Satan and the fallen Host will be removed as spiritual beings and will be made human (Isa. 14:15-17).

Q44.    Why would God make Satan into a human being?

A.        God does not want any of His creation to fail. Therefore, Satan and the fallen Host will have a second chance (as human beings) to repent and qualify for the Kingdom of God. However, they will not regain the responsible positions they had before the rebellion. But it is better to be in God’s Kingdom in any capacity than not to have access to God’s Holy Spirit. God is not a respecter of persons and just as humans who did not qualify for the First Resurrection are given opportunity to do so in the Great White Throne Judgment, so will Satan.

Q45.    What is the Great White Throne Judgment?

A.        After the final rebellion and the 7,000 years are completed, the Great White Throne Judgment will begin. Any human who did not qualify for the First Resurrection will be given an opportunity to live God’s way of life in the Second Resurrection. At that time, the rest of the dead will be brought back to life at the age of 20, as this is the age when a person becomes an adult. The Second Resurrection is a period of judgment, which appears to extend over 100 years (Isa. 65:20). Each person will have 100 years (2 Jubilees of 50 years each) to qualify to be a spiritual Son of God. It appears that the life of a man in the Second Resurrection is 120 years (see also Eccl. 8:12; Gen. 6:3).

Q46.    What does the hand over to the Father involve?

A.        The end will come when Christ hands over the Kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. Christ must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to God the Father who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all (1Cor. 15:20-28).

Q47.    Will God’s Throne remain in the 3rd heaven?

A.        No. The One True God will move His Throne to the Earth (Rev. 21:10 ff).

Q48.    Do we know what will happen with the Plan of God from that point on?

A.        Scripture does not clearly tell us what will happen after this period. But what is clear is that the One True God, whom we love, worship and obey, has set in place a wonderful Plan whereby His spiritual and physical beings can qualify to become spiritual Sons of God.

Q49.    Does God bless us if we obey Him?

A.        Yes. There are many responsibilities that go with God’s Plan, but the rewards and blessings are numerous.

Q50.    Will the family of God and His Council continue to expand with and following the First Resurrection?

A.        Yes, when Messiah returns we see that the Marriage Supper takes place (Rev. 19:7-10). It is likely that those who qualify will be placed in a position in God’s governing Council. For example, it appears that Moses and Elijah could function in the role of the replacement of two of the Living Creatures that lost their position when they rebelled. Abraham and Enoch also were righteous and the four appear to be in positions in the Council. Abraham and Moses were both referred to as Elohim. We also see that the 12 Apostles are each assigned a position in the Council of judging one of the 12 tribes of Israel (Mat. 19:28; Rev. 21:15-16). We can assume that the 12 Judges will also be part of the governing Council.

Q51.    When we look at New Jerusalem do we all come in through one of the 12 tribes?

A.        Each tribe would be allocated to an Apostle with three tribes per quadrant (Rev. 21:12). But these 12 tribes are not the only descendants of Abraham.

Q52.    What was Abraham’s first son’s name? Were blessings extended to him too?

A.        Abraham’s first son was named Ishmael. His mother was Hagar, the Egyptian handmaid of Sarah (Gen. 16:1). Hagar took a wife for him from Egypt (Gen. 21:21). Ishmael is referred to in Genesis 16:11,15; 21:20; 39:1 and Judges 8:24. The sons of Ishmael hold a blessing outside of the promises through Isaac, Israel and Joseph (Gen. 17:19-21).

Q53.    What are the names of the 12 Princes of Ishmael and how will they function?

A.        The 12 princes of Ishmael in order of their birth are: Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah (Gen. 25:13 ff). This will create the secondary Council of 24 tribes, added to the existing structure of 24 Elders in God’s Council.

Q54.    Who was Abraham’s second wife or the third woman Abraham had children with?

A.        After the death of Sarah, Abraham also had sons with Keturah (Gen. 25:1).

Q55.    How many sons did he have with Keturah?

A.        The six sons of Keturah are as follows: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, Shuah.

Q56.    How many descendants did Abraham have?

A.        It is interesting to note that Abraham’s descendants – the 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 tribes of Ishmael, and the six tribes of Keturah – give one full Council of 30.

B.  Activity: Individual or large chart of the Throne of God

General concepts of the lesson:  During the lesson the concepts are reviewed and children participate by attaching the symbol to the correct location on each respective template. The teacher reviews the major Scriptures and themes as each diagram is reviewed and assembled. Afterward children are able to do a presentation for the congregation of each diagram. Have the children who read well take the lead with the more complex diagrams. The child can read the summary of the Scriptures in the text box on the diagram and add any other material they feel relevant. The instructor can assist by asking questions of the children to prompt them if concepts have been overlooked

Children can also be provided with additional materials that they can work on later such as colouring worksheets 1,2,3,4,7 that correspond to the large diagrams but allow the child to colour in the spaces. The sheets also serve as a visual and scriptural reference of the material covered. Also included in the packet was the question and answer sheet that corresponds to the lesson, matching of Scriptures with texts of CB4, matching God and His Laws, Apostle worksheet, 2 word searches and a crossword puzzle.

Materials needed:

  1. Diagrams 1,2,3,4,7 of the Throne. Preferably an enlarged diagram corresponding to each small diagram.
  2. Pre-cut shapes for each diagram
  3. Glue sticks per child or double-sided tape if using plastic template
  4. Knowledge about the creation of God or review of the paper, The Creation of the Family of God (No. CB4).
  5. Supplemental worksheets if it is desired to provide the child with an activity packet for later use and review. Can include colours or coloured pencils if the child does not have access to art materials.
  6. Copies of bookmarks of the Ten Commandments or five centralities of God, pre-cut paper, stickers and glue if you want to allow the children to make bookmarks and then hand them to people in the congregation after their presentation. You can provide fancy scissors; glitter etc. if you want the bookmakers to be another special focus but this will require additional time to cut and assemble.

Procedure:

1.   Using the diagrams provided, Throne 1,2, 3, 4, and 7, enlarge each of the diagrams. You can either use paper or clear plastic you put on tables. If you choose to use plastic you have a reusable template for future years. It is easiest to make cardboard symbols then trace them on to a template. It is easiest to work off a square and plan the diagram 7 first since it is the most complex. You can trace the necessary components from 7 to make the simpler diagrams. When copying the diagram it is easiest to plan one quadrant first and just replicate that quadrant three times for the remainder of the diagram.

Using 3 x 5 cards create labels for each of the diagrams

o       Diagram 1 God Alone

o       Diagram 2 Spiritual Creation

o       Diagram 3 Spiritual Rebellion

o       Diagram 4 Christ at God's Right Hand and Spiritual Replacement

o       Diagram 5 Council Expansion; diagram 5 also needs a card for each of the 4 directions that include the 12 sons of Israel listed in their new placement and 12 sons of Ishmael listed in birth order placement.

      East: Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, Nehaioth, Kedar, Adbeel;

      South: Simeon, Issachar, Zebulun, Mibsam, Mishma, Dumah;

      West: Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Massa, Hadad, Tema;

North: Reuben, Judah, Levi, Jetur, Naphish, Kedemah.

2.  Cut out necessary shapes per diagram. It is easiest to keep items needed for each diagram in a labelled zip-lock bag or envelope.

o       Diagram 1 God alone: one blue square for God

o       Diagram 2 Spiritual Creation: one blue square for God, 4 Living Creatures, 7 Spirits of God, 24 Elders

o       Diagram 3 Spiritual Rebellion

o       Diagram 4 Christ at God's Right Hand and Spiritual Replacement

o       Diagram 7 Council Expansion.

o       Total items needed:

·        5 squares for God: blue

·        12 rectangles for 4 Living Creatures: blue

·        2 rectangles for rebellious Living Creatures: red

·        2 rectangles for replacement Living Creatures: light blue or leave as outline only on template

·        2 small rectangles for Messiah: purple

·        48 diamonds for 7 Spirits before God's Throne: yellow

·        72 long ovals for 24 Elders: blue

·        12 long ovals for 12 rebellious Elders: red

·        12 long ovals for 12 replacement Elders: light blue or just leave outline on template

·        12 small circles for the 12 Apostles: blue

·        12 ovals for the 12 Judges: blue

3.  Cut out 2 blue circles: a smaller one to represent the Inner Council and a larger circle to represent the Outer Council. Cut out 2 red circles the same size as the blue circles. Cut the smaller circle in half; this represents the Inner Council where one half of the Host rebelled. Cut out 1/3 of the larger blue circle; this represents the entire spiritual creation in which 1/3 of the beings rebelled.

  1. Create a sign that reflects what happened between diagram 3 Rebellion of Satan and the Host and diagram 4 Christ at God's Right Hand and Spiritual Replacement of rebellious Host.

The sign should include:

a.       Earth became waste and the fallen Host created "manlike beings" or humanoids.

b.      Earth refashioned.

c.       Adamic creation.

d.      Satan allotted 6000 years to rule the Earth.

e.       Messiah returns:

o       Marriage Supper / First Resurrection

o       Last 7 trumpet plagues

o       Satan bound

o       Treble harvest in 2025 or 48/120

o       Double harvest in 2026 or 49/120

o       Jubilee in 2077

o       Jubilee of Jubilees starts in 2028. Messiah and elect ruling the world, known as the Period of Just Rule.

o       Satan released at end of the 7000 years and once again deceives people.

o       Rebellion ended

o       Satan and fallen Host made into physical human beings

o       Great White Throne Judgment / Second Resurrection.

Diagram 2: Throne of God

Creation of spiritual beings

Eloah is Creator of all the spiritual beings (Neh. 9:6; Isa. 40:26; Acts 14:15). The creation of the spiritual was before the physical (Heb.11:3). Spiritual beings were created perfect (Ezek.28:12).They had free moral agency and could decide to obey or rebel against God. Revelation 4 describes God’s Throne which is currently located in the 3rd heaven (2Cor.12:2). It is in the north (Isa. 14:13).
